Kenya Trip 2008

In August of 2008, the Lord allowed us to take a trip to see the churches that IBOM has been able to start in Kenya.  This page has pictures that show you highlights of what the Lord did while we were there.

Here is a picture of Rebekah and I in Manaja, Kenya.  Here we met with Pastors in the area and had an evangelistic meeting.  We told the Pastors to tell everyone that came that they would receive a free bag of corn meal.  When we arrived we saw nearly 300 people there!!!

Here are the bags of corn meal we gave to every family that came to the meeting.

Dr. Wendell Runion speaking to the crowd.

Dr. Oliver Alraza preaching to the crowd in Mananja, Kenya.

After we sang a few songs, we had Dr. Oliver Alaraza preach to the crowd of people.  The people were spread out over such a large area, this made it impossible to see all the crowd in one picture.  After he preached, an invitation was given and 25 people came forward wanting to be saved!!! Also, 4 people came forward wanting to rededicate thier lives to the Lord!!!

25 people come forward, wanting to be saved!!!

Notice the sincerity on the faces of these people.

These people came forward and wanted to rededicate their lives to the Lord.

After we left Manaja, we spent the next day in Nairobi.  Nairobi is where the Nairobi Outreach Baptist Church is at.  The pastor of this church is Francis Ndleva.  We had a service with these people and tried to encourage them to continue in the grace of God.  Please pray for this small church.

Dave Padgett preaching to the Nairobi Outreach Baptist Church.

The next day we flew across Kenya to the city of Eldoret.

We spent the next few days in the Malaba Outreach Baptist Church in Malaba, Kenya.

Here is a picture of Spencer Smith teaching Sunday School on Sunday morning.

We told the church to invite all their friends to come to the Church and that anyone that came would get a free lunch.  The Sunday Morning Service had over 600 people in attendance!!!

Brother Oliver Alraza preached to the church.  He preached a powerful message on being religious, but lost.  The Lord used this message in a great way.  Seen below is a picture of the invitation after the message.  There were 25 people who came forward to be saved!!!

The Sunday night service was made into a graduation ceremony for 10 men who have graduated from the Providence Baptist Bible College.

The next 3 days were spent teaching the Bible in the Providence Baptist Bible College.  I spent several hours teaching on the Pastoral Epistles.

During these 3 days we had split sessions and Rebekah had the opportunity to teach the Bible to the Pastor’s wifes.
