How to Plant a Church

There is a great need to establish churches in Kenya. We have had many Pastors ask us “How can we get involved in Kenya?”  Here are several ways to get involved:

#1. Support The Smith Family

By supporting the Smith family  you will enable them to do the work that is required to plant churches in Kenya.  With your missions support they will be able to hold conferences in Kenya, train national leadership, bring gospel literature into Kenya (Gospel Tracts, Bibles, Christian Literature), and maintain accountability with our national pastors.

#2. Support a National Pastor

We currently have several men who have been trained at the Providence Baptist Bible College in Malaba, Kenya.  Many of these men are working full time jobs and need your support to enable them to do the work required to start and build a church in Kenya.  Many of our pastors can be fully supported for only $90 a month.  We support our national pastors for up to 3 1/2 years and begin to decrease the support gradually starting at 2 years.  Most of our churches have become self supporting in this 3 1/2 time period.

#3. Build a Church Building

To have an established church you have to have a place for them to meet.  IBOM has been able to build several church buildings in Kenya.  The average cost of a church building in Kenya is $10,000. You can help establish a church by raising the funds to build a church building.

#4. Visit Your Church in Kenya

We currently are having an IBOM Kenya Pastor’s Conference every year in Kenya. You can attend a conference in Kenya and we will take you to see the church that your missions money was able to start.  You will be able to meet the Pastor that you supported and see the souls that he led to Christ.  Many Pastors that have visited Kenya have come back to the USA with a revived heart and a greater knowledge of the need to start churches in Kenya.
